Feathers
Feather paintings are done on turkey, and a variety of bird feathers. I can matte and frame your feather painting, send it to you as-is, or attach findings so that you can hang your feather. A hanging feather makes a nice accent to the interior rearview mirror of your car. If you would like your feather framed and double-matted, please specify two matte colors.
I paint on various types of feathers: Turkey, Pheasant wing, Blue Rock Dove wing, Wood Pigeon tail and wing, French Partridge, Woodcock, and English Partridge. All feathers were harvested legally, and sanitized prior to my painting on them. Varnish, applied once my painting has dried, will ensure stability and protection.
The different types/sizes of turkey feathers are:

Covert: average size 2in wide by 7in long

Pre-tail: average size 3in wide by 9in long

Full length: average size 4in wide by 16in long
- Multiple feather: on request, I can create paintings
across multiple feathers - two, three, a group, or
a full tail fan
Eggs and Psanky
Egg paintings and Psanky are done on real eggs that have been emptied via a small hole on the underside. Eggs are coated with gloss varnish for a nice shine, which protects the paint and dye. The types of eggs I use are:
- Chicken: average size 2 1/2in tall and 6 inches around (circumference)
- Goose: average size 4 1/2in tall and 8 inches around
- Ostrich: average size 8in tall and 16 inches around
